Back to the office guide and tips from ALD Automotive how you can maintain your car

As you probably know, it is not recommended to leave the car unattended for too long.

Therefore, for the moment when you will return to the office, ALD Automotive’s experts have prepared a set of tips that will tell you how to maintain your car and what to do when you need to return to the office with your company car.

  • Start the engine regularly

Even if you didn’t use your car in the past weeks, let the engine run for 15-20 minutes once a week, this will allow the car's alternator to charge the battery. For ventilation, make sure you do this in an open space, not in a garage or underground parking lot. Also, starting the car is useful for the cooling system.

Before driving, when you start the vehicle wait about 1 minute before moving and see if there is any fault warning on the vehicle dashboard; you also need to check if there is an unusual sound coming from the vehicle.

If you notice any situation, you can contact our ALD Automotive call center and get support immediately.

  • Avoid using the parking brake as much as possible when the car is staying parked

Secure the car in a gear if it is equipped with a manual transmission or in the P position on automatic transmissions, to prevent the discs from sticking to the brake pads. If you have the necessary space, move the car a short distance up to 1m, it will help you make sure that the brakes do not stick.

  • Check the tires

If the car has been parked for a period, the tires may have a "weak spot" on the portion with which the tire touches the ground (the tire deforms slightly due to the weight of the car). Most of the weak points will disappear when you will start driving, because the tires will heat up and return to their original shape. It is good to be careful, and before start driving to the office to check their condition.

  • Check all vehicle fluids

Not using your vehicle for a long time may cause the liquids in the vehicle to decrease by evaporation or to change its viscosity value.

Antifreeze, hydraulic fluid and brake fluid must be checked to have the optimum level indicated on the vessel. This will be beneficial for your driving safety.

  • Periodical Maintenance

As you know, based on manufacturer's guide our vehicles have periodic maintenance that should be done based on certain km and / or annual maintenance. You can get the latest maintenance time and mileage information of your vehicle from the vehicle trip computer or ALD Automotive call center.

If your vehicle is due for maintenance, we remind you that your vehicle should go to service.

You can send an e-mail to maintenancegr@aldautomotive.com or contact us on our line 210 48 40 000 to learn the authorized services that we have the closest agreement with your brand.

  • Safety conditions

Be safe when traveling: keep all contact points clean - door handles, steering wheel, gearbox, trunk and buttons on the car, all of these are areas to keep in mind. Clean all contact points before each driving using antibacterial or alcohol-based cleaning agents. Consider leaving hand sanitizer, napkins or gloves in the car so that they are available for each trip.
